Keep the picture complete
A donor who mails a $500 check and also gives $25/month online is one person — and their record should say $500 more. Donor Merchant's Add Donation screen lets you log any offline gift in seconds:
- Matches an existing donor by email, or creates a new one
- Records the amount, date, method (check, cash, bank transfer, other), and a reference like a check number
- Optionally assigns it to a campaign
- Optionally emails the donor a receipt
Why it matters
Lifetime giving totals drive your most important decisions — who to thank, who to ask, who to steward. If half your gifts never make it into the system, those totals lie. Offline entry keeps your donor database and reports honest, so the donor sorted to the top of your list really is your biggest supporter.
