Can I install Donor Merchant on Webflow?
No. Webflow hosts sites on its own platform, and WordPress plugins only run on WordPress. Webflow's Code Embed element can't help either: Webflow says it supports HTML, CSS and JavaScript but can't run server-side languages such as PHP, which is what WordPress plugins are written in. What you can do is run Donor Merchant on a small WordPress site at an address like give.yourdomain.org and link to it from your Webflow navbar.
Does Webflow have a donation feature?
Not today. A request on Webflow's own wishlist titled "Ecommerce - for Nonprofits - Add a Donation Option" was posted in December 2018 and was marked "Reviewed" when we checked in October 2026. Until that changes, these are the options.
Option 1: a "donation" product in Webflow Ecommerce
Webflow Ecommerce connects to Stripe and PayPal. Before you can take payments you need an Ecommerce Site plan with checkout turned on. Webflow adds its own transaction fee on the Ecommerce Standard plan:
| Ecommerce Site plan | Webflow transaction fee |
|---|---|
| Standard | 2% of the order total |
| Plus | 0% |
| Advanced | 0% |
Stripe's or PayPal's processing fee comes on top. These are the fees Webflow's help center listed in October 2026; check Webflow's pricing page for current plan prices.
It is an awkward fit for donations. Each product or variant has a set price, and Webflow's product documentation doesn't describe a field where the donor types their own amount. Donors also go through a store checkout built for buying things. Recurring gifts are harder still: subscription billing in Webflow Ecommerce depended on Webflow User Accounts, and Webflow said it would switch User Accounts off on all sites on January 29, 2026. Webflow also points out that Stripe and PayPal restrict some kinds of sales, so read their terms before using a store for gifts.
Option 2: embed a third-party donation form
The Code Embed element accepts code of up to 50,000 characters. You need a paid Site plan, or a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace. To add one, open the Add panel, drag a Code Embed element onto the canvas, paste the code, and save. Scripts show as a placeholder in the Designer and only run on the published site. Webflow's support team doesn't troubleshoot custom code.
Webflow's integrations directory lists donation services, such as Donately and Foxy, that work this way. Those are separate companies with their own fees and terms.
Option 3: link to a donation page
Link a "Donate" button to a page hosted somewhere else. For a group that only needs to take the occasional one-time gift, a payment link from your processor can be enough: Stripe Payment Links, for example, support a price the customer chooses for one-off payments. It is the cheapest and simplest route, and a reasonable place to start.
When is a simple link enough?
If you take a few one-time gifts a month and someone already keeps donor records in a spreadsheet, a processor's payment link is fine. You don't need a donation system to accept $50 from a supporter.
When does a WordPress donation page make sense?
When you want the things a store checkout or a bare payment link won't give you:
- Recurring giving weekly to yearly on Stripe or PayPal (recurring donations), with a donor portal where donors see their history and Stripe donors update their card or cancel.
- Donor records with printable receipts, annual statements and CSV export for your bookkeeper.
- A real donation form: suggested and custom amounts, fee recovery, tributes, designations, an employer matching question and custom fields.
- Campaigns with goal thermometers, and offline gifts (checks, bank transfers) recorded beside online ones.
- Gift Aid declarations for UK charities (Gift Aid).
Donor Merchant is free and adds no platform fee. You pay for WordPress hosting and Stripe or PayPal processing.
How do I link Webflow to a WordPress donation page?
- Set up the WordPress site. Use any host with WordPress 6.2 or later, PHP 7.4 or later and HTTPS. Install Donor Merchant from Plugins > Add New, connect Stripe or PayPal (getting started), and add the Donation Form block or
[donor_merchant]to a page. - Add the subdomain in DNS. Add one record named
give(A or CNAME, as your host says) wherever your domain's DNS is managed, and leave the existing records alone. Our any-website guide has the full steps. - Add a navbar link. Select any element in your Navbar, open the Element settings panel, go to Navbar settings and click Add link. Select the new link, choose the URL link type, and paste your donation page address. Leave Open in a new tab off if you want the move to feel like part of the same site. A Button element uses the same link settings.
- Style the button and the form to match. Give the Donate link its own class in Webflow so it stands out from the other nav links. Then copy your brand color's hex code into Donor Merchant > Settings > Forms > Form style as a custom color, and pick the button shape (pill, rounded or sharp) that matches your Webflow buttons.
- Set up webhooks and test. Recurring renewals depend on webhooks. Make a test gift in Stripe's test mode before you go live.
Can I put the WordPress form inside a Webflow Code Embed?
You can wrap the donation page in an iframe inside a Code Embed, but we don't recommend it and don't promise it will work. Inside a frame, Apple Pay needs the frame to be allowed to request payment and the domain to be registered with Stripe, PayPal opens popups, and Safari blocks third-party cookies inside frames by default. A link avoids all three.
Checked against Webflow's help center in October 2026. Webflow's Designer changes often; if a panel or label differs in yours, look for the equivalent setting.
